Born and raised in Clinton, Mississippi, David E. James graduated from Mississippi State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and subsequently obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi in 2003. David has been licensed to practice law in Mississippi since September 2003; and he has been actively involved in the private practice of law since that date.
Throughout his entire legal career, David’s law practice has consisted primarily of family and domestic law litigation, and he completes most of his continuing legal educational requirements in the field of domestic relations. David has received favorable recognition from both the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys and the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys as “10 Best Attorneys” and “Nationally Ranked Top 10 under 40,” respectively. As a passionate advocate for my clients, I have successfully represented them in a variety of legal matters, including personal injury, medical malpractice, and workers' compensation. Danna A. O’Brien graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate in 1998. While at the University of Mississippi Law School, Danna was the Secretary/Treasurer of the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association. Danna joined James & Associates in 1998, and was elevated to Partner in 2007. Danna is currently a member of the Mississippi Bar and its Family Law Section, the American Bar Association and its Family Law Section, and the Madison County Bar Association. Danna was also a member of the Charles Clark Chapter of the American Inns of Court. He has been a member of the Jackson Young Lawyers Association, where he served as Chairman of the tutoring program for the Boys & Girls Club in Jackson. Danna is also a frequent CLE speaker including at the Mississippi Family Law Hot Tips Seminar, as well as a co-speaker for Divorce Law 101: Obtaining the Best Settlement for Your Client in Mississippi. He was further selected by his peers to be included in The Best Lawyers in America.
